Chevy's Boat
I like my boat. It is pretty. I made it out of polystyrene. It feels light. I think it will float.
By Chevy.
By Chevy.
Zuhayr's Boat
My boat is made out of polystyrene. It is light. l know that polystyrene is light and it should float. It has a mast and a sail to help it turn. My boat has blue paint.

Abigail's Boat
My boat is made out of a milk bottle. It has a sticker on it with a 7 on it and stickers around it. The sail is held up by a stick which is the mast. It has a lid to make no water come in. The front is called the bow and the back is called the stern. My boat is very hollow because it is a milk bottle. The bottom is called the hull. I think my boat will float because it has a plastic bottom.

Cindy's Boat
I like Chevy's boat because Christmas is coming soon. The boat is made by polystyrene. We need to put paint because dye doesn't go in the holes of polystyrene. Chevy put purple and pink paint because pink and purple is her favourite colour. The favourite parts are Santa Claus, flag and Christmas tree. Santa Claus is saying: "Ho ho ho!" (He said it many times) The Christmas tree is white with tiny Christmas trees on it. Some colourful things are on the boat. They make the boat pretty. The flag is made out of white paper and Chevy used vivid to draw pictures on it. Chevy wrote her name because the boat belong to her. The place where Chevy wrote her name is on the flag. I think mum is jealous when I talk about someone else's boat! My mum think it floats, my dad think it sinks, I don't know if it sinks or floats!
Cooper's boat
My boat has a small trigger so the motor can work. The boat is made out of cardboard. It is very light and little. I Have a crown on the bow. There is a name on my boat and that name is King's Boat. I think my boat will float because I have already tested it.

Jesse's Boat
My boat is made of polystyrene this makes it very light for it to float on the water. The boat is a racing boat and a war carrier boat too so inside are war things. I know that polystyrene floats so my boat will float because polystyrene is very light.

We have invented 'Things'
This week, one of our sounds of the day was 'th'
We thought of lots of words that had 'th' in them like: this, that, three, thread, thick, thin, them, think,
there, they, the, their, teeth, enthusiastic, thanks,
thigh and thing.
Can you think of anymore words that have 'th' in them? Write them in the comment box and send them to us
We decided to invent our own 'thing' after watching a movie about 'th'
Look at our creations:

Learning about Pens and Pencils
Recently, two of the reading groups in the class read a book called Pens and Pencils.
The children were really fascinated about how children used to write with slate pens on slate boards and then ink pens. The ink pens had to be dipped in ink and later there were ink pens that could be filled from an inkwell.
Cooper brought in a fountain pen that belonged to his Dad. The children could see the nib at the end of the pen where the ink came out of. We carefully unscrewed it and took the top off the pen and inside, we could see the ink in a plastic tube..it was fascinating!
The best part was, Cooper showed us how to write with it and then, we could all have a turn writing with the fountain pen. Thanks Cooper!

We all wait patiently to have a turn...........
